Tallahassee, Fla.
– Today, Floridians for Government
Accountability announced the founding members of
their first advisory coalition. Caregivers for
Government Accountability will offer a forum for
those who provide indigent care to unite in a
call for reform and accountability within
government.
The Caregiver’s Coalition will be led by Dr.
Judy O’Donnell, a retired Ph.D. from Ft. Myers;
Brittany Blake, an ER nurse and graduate student
from Lady Lake; and John Giotis, a community
activist and government watchdog from St.
Petersburg. These coalition leaders will engage
with others in the caregiver community and
invite their participation in the movement to
ensure government accountability, especially as
it relates to care for the most vulnerable.
"Our coalition understands how important it is
to provide quality healthcare for all
Floridians," said Judy O'Donnell. "The last
thing we need are lobbyists and special
interests, who are following their own agendas,
to be in charge of the public treasury. Taxpayer
dollars need to be protected and appropriated by
the Legislature to carry out the mission that
the people of Florida need.
